iChatters? Abot the same as ChatFinder.

I read somewhere there was a relationship iChat finder on the night, but I didn't bookmark it.

There are only two surviving iChat/AIM user directories that I am aware of: ChatFinder.com and 14k4.com.
ChatFinder.com is a first class "premium" service where content is screened and photos are edited for consistency - no sleaze or spam. It has interest-based searching and real time online status so you don't waste time trying to contact people who are not online. I've been a member for two years, met some great people and had a lot of fun. It has about 35,000 email confirmed members, over 18 only, free iChat tech support, and, relatively speaking, tight rules about what is posted. $6.95 for 30 days or $14.95 for 90 days. It's worth it for screening out the obvious sickos. No chatrooms - just select someone based on your search and contact them via iChat.
.macbuddycentral (14k4) is a very simple, free directory where .mac members often list their screennames to be available for contact. As you might expect, it is a free-for-all approach with few features except a very limited search function. Since there is no online status, you may have to add 50 people to your buddy list before you find one online. Too frustrating for me and many of the "real" members are on ChatFinder. About 6,000 members and lots of kids. A predator's delight.
Someone mentioned iChatters.com and thought it was the same as ChatFinder. Not! iChatters is a collection of unmoderated chatrooms. If you like chatrooms and all that comes with it, this is your place. Instead of being able to choose who you chat with, you are thrown into a group of strange (in the fullest sense of the word) people. It's free (for a reason) but you have to add a "widget" to your computer (gasp!). Expect spam to your registered email address since the owner also runs "adult" sites. Note the gaping holes in the privacy policy. The site claims about 30,000 members.
If you speak French, try ichatclub.org. Tg, the owner, sells softcore photos of herself to pay the server bills! The net can be cruel.
